Air + Land Allotment

The wholesaler's package, loaded the way you sell it

A dedicated booking type for the Argentine cupo aeroterrestre, inside your travel agency's management software.

When you buy a closed air + land package from a wholesaler, loading it in pieces makes no sense. The Air + Land Allotment stores it the way you bought it: one unit, one operator, one expiry date.

A closed package is loaded once

The Air + Land Allotment is not another section: it is a booking type that changes what the system asks for, what it calculates and what it warns you about.

A booking type, not a workaround

Pick Air + Land Allotment and the editor hides Flights, Accommodations and Transfers: those services are already inside the package, and loading them separately would count them twice in your numbers. A Detail section appears instead.

  • No loose flights
  • No duplicated accommodations
  • No separate transfers

The allotment Detail, field by field

Operator, reservation code, expiry date, currency, total to pay, total to charge, accommodation name, departure, return, rooms, board basis and notes. Twelve of the thirteen fields are required — only notes is optional, so a half-loaded allotment never gets saved.

  • Thirteen fields, twelve required
  • Nights calculated for you
  • Five board bases, room-only to all-inclusive

Excursions, vehicles and insurance stay separate

An allotment is often sold alongside travel assistance or an excursion booked outside the package. Those are genuine services of their own, with their operator and their amount, and the Air + Land Allotment does not take them away.

  • Insurance and assistance
  • Excursions
  • Vehicles

The option expiry, in plain sight

The allotment's expiry date is the one that bites: past that date the wholesaler releases the package. It lands on the calendar as ALLOTMENT EXPIRES, with its own filter, and shows up in the Upcoming expirations card on Home.

  • Departure and return on the calendar
  • Expiry with its own filter
  • In Upcoming expirations on Home

AI reads an allotment as an allotment

Import the wholesaler's PDF with the booking marked as Air + Land Allotment and AI will not fill in loose flights or hotels: it takes the whole package's total to pay and total to charge and completes the Detail.

  • No double counting of the package
  • Operator and code from the PDF
  • Passengers and insurance load as usual

It counts in full in your numbers

The allotment adds up like any other service: it is split across passenger groups, counts as operator cost against what you owe, and feeds the booking's margin and the seller's commission.

Frequently asked questions

Air + Land Allotment in Tripwise

What we get asked most about this booking type.

It is one of the system's booking types. You use it when the agency buys a closed air + land package from a wholesaler and sells it as a single thing. Instead of loading the flight, the hotel and the transfers separately, you load the whole package in a section called Detail, with its operator, its reservation code and its expiry date.

No. Tripwise does not handle inventory: there are no blocked seats, no available-versus-consumed counters, and no allotment shared across bookings. Each booking stores its own package, one per booking. The name describes the kind of product you bought from the wholesaler, not a stock the system administers.

No, and that is deliberate. In an allotment the flight, the hotel and the transfers are components of the package, not services you sold on their own. Loading them separately would add their amounts on top of the package's and inflate the booking's cost and sale.

The system warns you first, because data is lost. Switching into Air + Land Allotment deletes whatever was loaded in Flights, Accommodations and Transfers; switching out deletes the Detail. Either way the split of amounts across passenger groups is cleared and has to be redone. It is a confirmation dialog, not something you can undo.

The expiry shows on the calendar as ALLOTMENT EXPIRES and in the Upcoming expirations card on Home, so you see it as soon as you log in. There is no push notification and no automatic email for an allotment expiry.
